starter gear and clutch

I pulled the shifter side "side" cover off my bike attempting to remove the starter clutch/flywheel/and starter drive gear. I removed the center bolt, and all six allen bolts, in order to actually pull off the flywheel do I need a puller or is there some other method of removing it??? I'd appreciate any help you all could give???
